What is Repentance?

In order for one to understand the true meaning of repentance, they must first comprehend the meaning of sin! 1st John 3:4, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law". Sin is the breaking of the laws/commandments in the Bible. The Israelites (so called Negroes and Hispanics) that are calling themselves African Americans, Christians, Muslims. Baptists etc. and are committing the acts of Adultery, Homosexuality, Idolatry (worshiping of other gods) or anything contrary to the laws of the Bible, are "in transgression of the law." They are guilty of SIN, and must REPENT to attain salvation through Christ. Read Romans 6:23.

Who is Repentance for?

Acts 5:31, "Him (Jesus Christ) hafh God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." “Repentance and forgiveness of sins" is referring to Christ coming as the savior for the nation of Israel, by being sacrificed on the cross for their SINS. Therefore, they must repent for breaking the laws.

How Does an Israelite Repent?

Before any Israelite can repent, they must acknowledge their sins by confessing them before the Heavenly Father and then keep his commandments through Christ. Proverbs 28:13, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper ("covereth" by not admitting to the breaking of the commandments): but whoso confesseth (acknowledges that they have committed sin against the LORD, Job 33:27) and forsaketh them (REPENTS of their sins by keeping the Laws and obeying Christ) shall have mercy.

Psalms 119:9, "Wherewithal shall young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word". Only by "taking heed" (obeying) to the LAWS of the Most High, can the children of Israel "cleanse" themselves of their sins.

Psalms 19:7, "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony Of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple". In keeping the LAWS through Christ, the Israelites must convert (REPENT) their souls from wickedness/sins.

Acts 3:19, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted (keep the Laws), that your sins may be blotted out, when the times Of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Read II Chronicles 6:36-42.
